With the Georges River at its heart, Moore Point is an exciting new riverside precinct, helping to define Liverpool’s future. It is the place where the vision to transform Liverpool into a vibrant global city of lifestyle and opportunity will become a reality.
Over the next 40 years, the area, which is currently industrial and unused riverside land, will be transformed. Building upon the uniquely diverse community of Liverpool itself, it will become an integral part of the new Liverpool – an internationally respected river city. Moore Point will offer a diversity of jobs, accommodation, cultural experiences, healthy living and well-being, open space and active transport.
Once underway, the project will deliver up to 11,000 homes and 23,000 jobs in a strategic location – close to Liverpool railway station and bus interchange, Liverpool hospital, civic and community facilities, universities, and schools.
Moore Point also proposes to open up 10.8 hectares of open space and riverfront walking and cycling paths for the benefit of the wider community, and to link it to the Liverpool CBD with pedestrian bridges over the Georges River
The project is now entering an exciting phase as the Planning Proposal is expected to be publicly exhibited over coming months.

Moore Point will connect 8 kilometres of continuous walking and cycling trails along the Georges River. The new trails will enhance the life and leisure experiences for the local community.
Safe and convenient access to the Georges River will ensure the community is able to enjoy its recreation and fitness activities. This will help create a healthier lifestyle and tackle childhood obesity.

Sustainability opportunities at a precinct scale are being explored with Liverpool City Council and Sydney Water. This includes water reuse and improving the water quality of the Georges River and Lake Moore through water filtration or ‘water polishing’ - ensuring water entering the river and the lake is of high quality.
The blue and green grids will be integrated here through initiatives such as water play parks. These will be important assets for the community in an area which experiences very hot days in summer.

Moore Point is already well served by the existing Liverpool Transport Interchange, including the Liverpool Railway Station on the T5 line, and an extensive bus network. New bridges across the Georges River will seamlessly connect Moore Point to major public transport networks and the growing Liverpool metropolis on its doorstep.
Upon the opening of the Western Sydney International Airport in 2026, Moore Point will be a 20 minute ride via the Fifteenth Avenue Smart Transit (FAST) Corridor. This connection to the Western Sydney International Airport will support businesses wanting access to the national and global economy, and leisure travel for the broader community.

Moore Point will provide and promote active transport choices, connecting an 8km network of waterfront trails for walking and cycling.
Roads within the precinct will feature bicycle lanes and shaded footpaths. Smart lighting will illuminate pathways at night for safety.

Moore Point will include over 10 hectares of new public spaces, providing homes within a 10-minute walk of green, open and public space.
The Georges River promenade, the heritage marketplace, and the pathways along Lake Moore will be places for everyone. These and other new public spaces are linked by a Green Spine that connects the Precinct with a cool, green canopy.
Haigh Park will be upgraded, enhancing its existing beach and waterfront public areas.
Moore Point’s new public spaces will also include recreation on the Georges River itself, launching facilities for small craft including kayaks and canoes.

The community will benefit from well-designed public spaces which celebrate Liverpool’s heritage and diversity.
The Moore Point Precinct will celebrate its industrial heritage by adapting the factory buildings into a marketplace for fresh food, bars, restaurants and spaces for the whole community to enjoy.
Moore Point will feature arts and culture investment with public art and smart spaces for the whole community to use.

Moore Point will be home to 23,000 jobs, bringing significant job numbers to the Western Parkland City where Sydney’s growing and skilled population lives.
Local jobs will provide a real choice to people in Liverpool. Currently 70% work out of the area and 52% wish there were more local opportunities.
Moore Point will support a range of jobs for the workforce of the future in sectors including professional services, health, education, and urban manufacturing. There will also be jobs in retail, hospitality and personal services.
During construction, Moore Point will create almost 3,000 jobs per annum and will contribute over $3.9bn to the local economy through jobs and increased residential expenditure.
The adjacent Liverpool Innovation Precinct will support a range of new jobs for locals in future-focused industries including health and education.

Skills and Education are important for the growth of Liverpool. Moore Point is providing for a primary school for the growing community of Moore Point.
Having a school within walking distance to homes will increase productivity and leisure time for families. A Memorandum of Understanding with Western Sydney University has been signed.
It recognises Moore Point’s strategic location, with access to the Transport Interchange, Liverpool Hospital and the key assets of the Liverpool Innovation Precinct.
Moore Point is strategically located within the region so will be an important education place. It will have rapid access to Western Sydney Aerotropolis, and Parramatta and Eastern Sydney CBDs.

Moore Point will be a cool, green place where 2,200 new trees will be planted.
This will be a significant improvement from the current expanses of concrete and buildings with little natural shading. Families will enjoy plentiful green open space and tree canopy along the green spine and in the parks and streets.
This will reduce the urban heat island effect and provide a wonderful urban canopy.
The Precinct’s tree canopy and green cover will contribute to the greening and cooling of our city.

Moore Point represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver 11,000 homes across a 32-hectare urban transformation. This will consist of multiple dwelling types and tenures, including affordable housing, build to sell, build-to-rent, co-living, serviced apartments, residential care facilities and student housing among others.
Moore Point will address the current lack of housing options. Its diverse and high quality housing will deliver more choice for the people of Liverpool, in a setting with excellent amenity and connectivity.
Moore Point will be a quality precinct that the residents and broader Liverpool community can be proud of in the same way that they are of the Paper Mill development, which already provides housing options for local people.

Active LifestyleMoore Point locals will enjoy excellent walkability, for both leisure and work.
The Liverpool community is currently experiencing poor health outcomes, with a 30% childhood obesity rate. So, great streets, public spaces, parks and walkability are features which can improve health outcomes for the 90,000 children aged 14 and under who will live in the region by 2041.
Moore Point’s generous public spaces will be well shaded with an additional 2,200 trees in the precinct. The opportunity to work and study close to home will provide families with more time for leisure and recreation.

Moore Point is at the heart of Liverpool’s story as it evolves to a new future. It will be a unique example of sustainable waterfront urban renewal, taking its place alongside the world’s great river cities.
Moore Point is already a place of natural beauty and riverside ecology, which will be further enhanced by open space connections and corridors. New river crossings, and connections to existing under-utilised assets like Haigh and Light Horse Parks and Lake Moore, will help deliver the project vision.
People will walk to their local school, shops, restaurants, cafés, and cultural facilities and engage with the many small businesses which will be a part of the precinct and provide places to work locally. They will be able to cross over the river to Liverpool CBD as well as walking to work at the new medical and education facilities developing across the river.
The vision is influenced by local and state policy documents, and we are turning those policies into reality in Moore Point now. Planning permission is being sought so that this once in a generation opportunity in Sydney’s fastest growing and most culturally diverse city can be fully realised.
