Moore Point showcased at PIA 2022 NSW Conference

Moore Point, the largest private urban renewal precinct in Australia, was showcased at this year’s Planning Institute of Australia (PIA) NSW Conference thanks to a presentation from Erika Pawley, Director, Projects at Leamac Property Group.
The presentation focused on the role of the private sector in precinct planning in NSW and Liverpool. Erika outlined how the investment into Moore Point by the two landholders, Leamac and Coronation Property, is helping to drive the future of Liverpool, which will be transformed in the coming decades.
Drawing on international examples and the policy documents released by the then Greater Sydney Commission and Liverpool City Council, the presentation outlined the six key themes currently underpinning the Moore Point development – Natural beauty, Holistic health, Social uplift, Working neighbourhood, Home and Creativity.
These themes and the wider vision, in which thousands of new homes and jobs will be created in the next three decades, have helped to shape a collaborative spirit between the two major landowners and policy makers at both the local and state level, seen as critical for the future success of the project.
The presentation finished on how the private sector-led development of Moore Point will facilitate new connections to the core area of Liverpool, including the Growing Liverpool Innovation Precinct, the local schools, the Universities and the Liverpool CBD. A series of visuals of how Moore Point could look were also shared, providing the assembled audience with a taste of what private and public sector collaboration could deliver in this transformational precinct wide project.
